April 13th, 2020
Dear LVBTC students, tutors, and friends:
Literacy Volunteers of Broome-Tioga Counties (LVBTC) has extended our closed status in line with the Broome County Public Library and in response to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s statewide State of Emergency to help ensure the health and safety of our students, tutors, staff, and community.
The Broome County Public Library (BCPL) is closed until further notice. The Literacy Volunteers of Broome-Tioga County offices will be closed in alignment with the BCPL. Please continue to check the BCPL and LVBTC websites for updates.
Our staff is working remotely. If you need to contact any of us, please email:
All of our Literacy Labs/Classes at the BCPL and offsite locations will be closed in alignment with the Broome and Tioga County Schools which are currently closed through April 29, 2020. We are in the process of moving to an online format for our one-to-one tutoring programs and will be offering some online workshops as well.
We will continue to update our website, Facebook page, and phone voicemail message with current information. We will also send email updates to students and tutors that have email addresses on file and make calls to those who do not have email addresses.
United Way of Broome County has the latest information and good resources on the Coronavirus at https://www.uwbroome.org/latest-information-coronavirus/. Please see our Resources tab on our website for a link to this and other educational and community resources.
If you have any questions or concerns, please leave us a message at our office at 778-6406 or email Renelle at: RenelleLVBTC@gmail.com. We will respond as soon as possible.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time for all of us.
Thank you and please stay healthy!
